CAM Production

The two images above show the inside of the MP3 amplifier housing being machined on the Boxford CNC router.

The two images above this time show the outside of the MP3 amplifier housing being machined, again, on the Boxford CNC router.

The images above show the MP3 amplifier main housing in their finished state from the boxford CNC Router. Note the flanges are still attched to both parts, which was a requirement of the CNC routing process.

Shown above a two images of the two parts of the MP3 amplifier main housing after some initial finishing by hand to remove the flanges that were required for the CNC routing process. The 'ribbed' markings fromt he CNC machining have also now been removed by hand. The photo immediately above is the first time the two halves have been 'mated' together and fit very well requiring little hand finishing.

The photo above shows the assembled MP3 Amplifier with the 3D printed in place. The MP3 amplifer is now fully assembled with circuit board, speaker, switch and input lead in place, ready for its inital test!

The photos above show the painting process, initally primed with plastic primer, then pressure pot primer, followed by a high gloss metalic black paint finished with laqure to give a high impact gloss finish, seen in the photo below.
